As an art school capable of a full range of education/research, joint creation, content creation and production, School of Korean Traditional Arts at K-ARTS has played a central role in facilitating exchanges with foreign arts schools learning more about historical exchanges of traditional arts and mutual influences. In particular, exchange concerts were held with China Conservatory of Music (Beijing, China), having an opportunity to learn about each other’s traditional music. Furthermore, Professor Uemura of Tokyo University of the Arts and other prominent artists from China and Japan were invited for special lectures. In addition, some professors of the School of Korean Traditional Arts took the advantage of their sabbatical year and spent their time at College of Art, Yanbian University (China) and Tokyo University of the Arts (Japan) as visiting professors to introduce Korean traditional arts to each host country.
The plan to promote exchanges with foreign arts schools includes MOU signing between the School of Korean Traditional Arts and various schools of arts around the world; international created music concours, concert exchanges, joint academic conferences and creation workshops, etc.
Exchanges between School of Korean Traditional Arts at K-ARTS and foreign education and arts institutions play a critical role in promoting cultural exchanges. Promoting cultural exchanges can produce many achievements, including arts collaboration, positive impact on building arts Hallyu silk road through various arts content creation in collaboration with different cultures, and close networking for mutual cooperation.
